Your Household Collection Service
Your household collection service is provided by SITA UK which provide recycling collections for up to 90,000 households in Calderdale.
This scheme is specifically for the collection of paper, glass, cans and textiles from domestic households. Instead of throwing these items into your black rubbish bag, just place them in the bag and box supplied.
What we collect in the green bag
The green bag is for the collection of newspapers and magazines. This includes glossy pamphlets, leaflets, daily, weekly and monthly publications, cereal packets, directories, photocopy paper, junk mail and envelopes.
Please remove any plastic packaging from the magazines before depositing them in the green bag. Do not place any other materials in the green bag.
What we collect in the box
The plastic box is for the collection of clean glass bottles and jars and food and drink cans. You can put any kind of bottle or jar into it regardless of its colour as well as any food or drink cans whether aluminium or steel.
Please do not put broken glass or Pyrex into the box.
Please put out your clean and dry, unwanted clothes in a bag next to your box.
SITA UK collects the above recyclables every two weeks. You should put your box and bags out by 8:00am on the day of collection. (Where your property meets the pavement.)
